Health & Social Care Lecturer

Location: Bolton College
Contract: Temporary – expected until 3rd July 2026
Hours: Minimum 8 hours teaching per week + additional availability
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £30.00 – £32.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

About the Role

Bolton Talent Solutions, in partnership with Bolton College, is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Health & Social Care Lecturer to deliver high‑quality teaching within community‑based learning centres. This role offers the opportunity to inspire learners across a range of Health & Social Care subjects including safeguarding, communication, human development, equality & diversity, and core professional practice.

You will support learners who are progressing towards further study, apprenticeships, or employment within the care sector, helping them build confidence, sector awareness, and meaningful employment readiness.

Teaching Schedule (Community Locations)

  • Monday: 10:00am – 3:00pm (Deane & Derby Community Learning Centre)
  • Wednesday: 1:00pm – 3:00pm (Brownlow Fold Community Learning Centre)
  • Friday: 10:00am – 12:00pm (Farnworth Library)

Additional Availability at Bolton College

Option A

  • Monday: 9:00am – 2:30pm
  • Tuesday: 9:00am – 3:30pm
  • Thursday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Option B

  • Monday: 9:00am – 12:00pm
  • Wednesday: 10:30am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons across Health & Social Care
  • Teach core topics including safeguarding, human development, communication, care values, and equality & diversity
  • Provide constructive feedback and track learner progress
  • Create and maintain an inclusive, positive, and professional learning environment
  • Contribute to pastoral support and learner wellbeing
  • Attend planning, curriculum, and administrative duties during onsite availability

Key Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (Level 3 or above): PGCE, Cert Ed, PTLLS, AET or equivalent
  • Relevant Health & Social Care qualification (minimum Level 3)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage diverse learner groups
  • Experience delivering Health & Social Care in FE (preferred but not essential)
  • A genuine passion for learner development and community education
